Tidying some pencils

Some pencils were scattered around on my desk. I picked them up one by one. I placed the pencils in the drawer which I use to store pencils.

    Yawn, sigh,

here is my comment to the dullest blog. I’m not sure why I’ve bothered. I guess I just got bored from watching two flies, crawling on the window pain, for the last 2 hours, 14 minutes, and umm 5 seconds.

So, what type of pencils were they. Number 2? Mechanical?

  7. Michael says:

Picking them up one by one isn’t nearly as efficient as picking them all up at the same time…

Does this mean I’ll never find out what happened to Stevie the Geek?!

In the future this website will be mainly brown with many (occasional) contributors.

Or maybe not. Maybe I’ve gone forward in time.

    I’m confused.

    Hmmm, there goes the weekend.

I have a sectioned plastic holder in my desk drawer in which I also store my pencils. I also store my pens in there. Now here’s the important part. I keep my pens in one section and my pencils in a separate section. This procedure prevents my pens and pencils from getting mixed together, facilitating effortless retrieval of which item to select. I most sincerely hope you utilize this same procedure for you pens and pencils.

I had extra room in my pencil drawer. So I put my paper clips next to them.

  33. Pete says:

Sometimes I’m not sure whether to lay my pencil alongside my desk phone or across the front of it. If I get a call I don’t want to stab myself reaching for the handset if the pencil’s alongside; but if it’s across the front I might get poked reaching for a Post-It, which I keep next to the phone. I probably should turn the pencil so the tip is pointing the opposite direction. Any advice?

  39. Aaron Lerm says:

I as well use a pencil drawer to store pencils. However, when pencils are scattered, I use a procedure thereby lifting the pencils with my hand, which is held in front of me. Then I dispose of the pencils, realizing that this truly is the dullest blog in the world (MSNBC says so).

  46. Paul Robertson says:

May I ask why the “one by one” method was selected over the “all at once method” which can considerably enhance efficiency and can result in greater efficiency. Although this second method, it should be admitted, may also incur a slightly higher incidence of droppage when pencil picking up task is repeated?
